paper CO_Íkalatxt325 - : The present study also had some limitations regarding the type of content. For each variable, a specific type of content was used: a documentary and a short science-fiction movie . This might have had an impact on the results and a replication of this study with different content is encouraged. However, the agreement of participants on the preferred option was clear. It can be concluded from the results that the subtitles that best perform in terms of usability and immersion are always-visible subtitles with arrows. From a production point of view, this type of subtitling is more scalable and easier to produce than burnt-in subtitles created manually. A 360º subtitle editor is being developed in the ImAc project for this purpose (^[125]Agulló, in press).
